Lehrer and Son Construction is far more than a small, two-man operation. It is a company comprised of skilled and experience construction professionals.

...it starts with people.

It ends with Quality Craftsmanship

A True Story.
Jason Lehrer couldn't take it anymore. If he had to get up at that ridiculous hour one more time just to deliver newspapers, he was going to well, he didn't know what he was going to do. But he just couldn't take it anymore.

Ron Lehrer had a plan. He'd listened to his 13-year-old son complain about that paper route one time too many, so one summer day, Ron let Jason off the hook. "OK, son," he said. "Why don't you come to work with me for the rest of the summer instead?" Jason was overjoyed. He had spectacular visions of working as an executive carpenter, side-by-side with his father, building beautiful homes and room additions.

A Lesson Learned
The next morning they awoke before the sun, got dressed and drove to the job site together. When they pulled up, Ron began walking toward the construction area, and Jason sprinted around the front of the truck to catch up with his father.

"Where do you think you're going?" Ron asked.

"With you, dad," Jason replied.

"No," Ron said, turning his son's gaze toward a dumpster and a giant pile of boxes and trash. "Your job site is over there. I want you to break down all of those boxes and fit all that trash in the dumpster. That's where you start." Jason looked up at his father's face. Was he kidding? No, he wasn't.

The day was long and hot, but Jason never complained. He completed the job he was assigned, stopping only for lunch. At day's end, Ron and Jason piled their beaten bodies back into the truck and headed for home. The ride was quiet most of the way, but as they rounded the corner and their house came into view, Jason spoke up. "Dad," he said, "I don't think I should come to work with you tomorrow. I've got to do my paper route."

And a broad smile came over Ron's face.

Saying So Much
Funny how one little story, one shred of a family's history, can say so much. But this singular lesson, taught by a father to his son, is a glimpse into the philosophy behind Lehrer and Son Construction. Hard work, commitment, a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction at the end of the day - these are the values upon which Ron and his wife, Carol, raised Jason. Of course, Jason is grown and married now, but those same core beliefs serve he and his father as the solid foundation of Lehrer and Son Construction. They know that rebar and two-by-fours are not what's at the very core of what they do. It's about people.

The team at Lehrer and Son understands that having the proper motivation and work ethic alone won't satisfy their clients. Quality craftsmanship, meeting deadlines and solid customer service-those make the real difference. And since Lehrer and Son was founded, those have been the hallmarks of the remodeling projects, renovations, re-roofs and custom homes it has completed.

The Difference is Clear
What separates Lehrer and Son Construction from any other construction company? The primary difference is in the on-site architecture and contracting services it provides. From the first pencil sketch to the final nail, Lehrer and Son Construction will oversee the entire project. Few other firms offer that. And few others can provide the superior level of client communication and support Ron and Jason Lehrer are committed to delivering.

"When a client's home is being remodeled or built from scratch, there is a certain feeling of vulnerability that goes along with it," Ron says. "We recognize that, and we are dedicated to not only keeping our clients informed through the whole process, but also being accessible to them around the clock." That's right. Whenever a question arises, no matter what it is, you can reach a Lehrer and Son Construction representative by pager or cellular phone. That's their commitment to you.

Keeping The Lesson Alive
All those years ago at the jobsite, Jason Lehrer was taught a valued lesson by his father-the importance of making a commitment and seeing it through. The importance of that lesson has not been forgotten-by Jason or any member of the Lehrer and Son Construction team. In fact, it has become part of who they are and part of what they do.
